Lending in public libraries

This indicator shows books lent at public libraries per capita in the Nordic region. A unit is defined as any kind of item which is available at a library either for use at the library only or taking home. A loan is the number of items lent out. Definitions are according to the International Standard ISO 2789 (Information and documentation - International library statistics). Number of loans consists of both books and other media. Data is available for Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland. For more information on Nordic Statistics: https://www.nordicstatistics.org
