Life expectancy for men

This indicator shows the life expectancy for men at birth, at age 15, at age 50 and at age 65 respectively in the Nordic region. Life expectancy at birth for men is defined as how long, on average, a newborn boy can expect to live, if current death rates do not change. However, the actual age-specific death rate of any particular birth cohort cannot be known in advance. If rates are falling, actual life spans will be higher than life expectancy calculated using current death rates. Data covers Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland, as well as the European Union (EU28) and the Euro Area (EA19).
