Income inequality

This indicator shows the income or wealth distribution in the Nordic region. The Gini coefficient is based on the comparison of cumulative proportions of the population against cumulative proportions of income they receive. It varies between 0, reflecting complete equality and 1, indicating complete inequality (one person has all the income or consumption, all others have none). Data is available for Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland, as well as the European Union (EU28) and the Euro area (EA19).
