R&D staff

This indicator shows the per cent of the labour force in the Nordic region who are employed as R&D staff in full time equivalents (FTE). A person working full time of which 40 per cent on R&D and 60 % on other activities (e.g. teaching, university administration or counselling) has an FTE of 0.4. Data on R&D staff is compiled according to the guidelines in the Frascati Manual (OECD 2002). At national level R&D and GBAORD data is compiled by the national statistical authorities. Data is available for Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, as well as the European Union (EU28) and the Euro Area (EA19). Denmark: 2002 and 2007: Break in time series.
